Trace the route beyond the state highway
IDOT oversize permit page uses ITAP for oversize and overweight permitting. IDOT permission applies to the roads under its authority; it does not automatically authorize a move on municipal, township or county roads, the Chicago Skyway or Illinois Tollway facilities.
Provide the actual pickup and delivery addresses, including the intended property entrances. A nearby highway interchange is not a substitute for either endpoint. A short move can have a complicated entrance or a road segment outside IDOT authority. Send photographs that show the approach to the property, not just the home's exterior.
