An Alamogordo manufactured-home move can involve a receiving-property review and a separate Otero County records process. Use the city's planning guidance for the property question and the county's transfer checklist for an ownership transaction. Title deactivation is another procedure with a different purpose; none of these documents should be treated as the carrier's road permission.
Property review
Alamogordo describes local zoning review before the state building-permit stage.
Ownership transfer
Otero's checklist addresses title, application and tax records, with conditional additional documents.
Title deactivation
The separate checklist includes permanent-foundation and valuation-status documentation.
Identify the property decision before describing the home as ready
The Alamogordo planning page explains its zoning-review role and says the city no longer has building inspectors. Ask which office and review apply to the particular home and parcel. Do not infer that every manufactured-home installation follows one state building process merely because the city page discusses that stage.

Give Planning the location and available home identification. Then tell the transporter what the property inquiry has actually established: the proposed receiving point, any unresolved condition and the person coordinating it. A hauling price should not silently assume that a pending property decision has been made.
Separate the questions by purpose
| Question | Starting resource | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| Receiving-property review | Alamogordo Planning and Zoning for the applicable local path. | The carrier's accepted route or equipment plan. |
| Ownership records | Otero County manufactured-home transfer checklist. | Permission to place the home on the intended lot. |
| Title deactivation | Otero County's deactivation checklist and assessor inquiry. | A routine requirement triggered simply by arranging transport. |
Explain the home records and the delivery point
Send both addresses, available identification documents and the planned receiving position. Tell the provider whether a purchase or property review is still in progress.
For a purchase, identify which transfer records are missing
The Otero transfer checklist includes title documentation, a signed MVD application and current-tax release, with other records for relevant sale, lien, trust or probate circumstances. A missing original title has its own duplicate-title route. The applicable documents depend on the transaction.
- Ask the seller or responsible representative which title document is available.
- Identify any lien or other ownership circumstance requiring an additional record.
- Keep the home identification consistent across the transaction and hauling request.
- Tell the provider which unfinished record affects release for pickup.
This is more useful than saying the home is ready because a purchase price has been agreed. The records office can explain what the transaction needs; the carrier can explain what it needs before collecting the described home.
Use deactivation only for the records action it serves
The Otero deactivation checklist calls for a permanent-foundation inspection certificate and a valuation-status action. Its purpose is different from assembling a road-move file.
Give dispatch the resulting status
Keep property-review status, ownership-record status and carrier readiness distinct. If the receiving position changes, ask the provider to review its delivery proposal. The New Mexico hauling guide covers the road-movement context. Installation, utility connections and preparation of the property remain with separately assigned providers.
